Lend a hand at June 16 home tour
The following are volunteer opportunities in Waterloo Region. For more information, call the Volunteer Action Centre at 519-742-8610 or check the website at www.volunteerkw.ca.
• Need to get out of the house and make some new friends? Spend a morning or an afternoon with seniors swapping stories over coffee or getting out for a walk. Join the girls in the hair salon and pass the rollers — and the compliments! To find out how to join our volunteer team at Parkwood Mennonite Home, contact Laura at 519-747-2151 ext. 335 or lgorman@parkwoodmh.com.
• The K-W Symphony Volunteer Committee is looking for volunteers to welcome and interact with attendees at the annual House and Garden Tour of Note on Saturday, June 16. This KWS fundraising event showcases six lovely homes and gardens, and volunteers will be positioned in an assigned room of one of the houses, providing information about features of that room. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age and will be given instruction by the house captain at the start of their shift. Morning or afternoon shifts are available, 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact Marnie Robertson at 519 884-5532 or mrobertson@golden.net.
• Call for Black and Gold Committee members for June 1 to Oct. 18: The KitchenerWaterloo Art Gallery is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Black and Gold Gala Committee. Gain valuable experience, build your resume, meet people who share your passion for the arts and make a positive impact on your community. Contact Elena at eveldman@kwag.on.ca or call 519-579-5860 ext. 221.
