Mother’s Day brunch, art market, and police open house
WATERLOO REGION — Tour police headquarters, take a flight or celebrate Mother’s Day while supporting a good cause.
There’s lots to do in the region this weekend, here’s the shortlist:
Waterloo Regional Police Service is opening its doors to the community to kick-off Police Week. At the Cambridge headquarters there will be live music, demonstrations and displays from the Emergency Response Team and the Traffic Motorcycle Unit, there will be photo opportunities, a charity barbecue, a puppet show and a 911 simulator. Admission is free but donations to the food bank are appreciated.
Looking for some summer threads? Head to the KW Clothing Market this Saturday where 28 vendors will offer sustainable fashion and jewelry that is upFlight
cycled, vintage, handmade or fair trade. And bring along quality formal wear you no longer need.
The KW Princess Project is accepting donations to help outfit local high school students who may not be able to afford a gown for prom or graduation. Admission
is $3.
For those in the shopping mood, the KW Artists Co-op is also hosting its annual Spring Art Market on Saturday. There will be refreshments as you browse you local art gallery.
The Waterloo Wellington Centre is celebrating women in aviation, Saturday.
Tour the flight centre, meet female pilots, learn more about the industry, and sign up for a free flight. Girls between the ages eight and 18 years, are welcome to attend the free event to learn what life in aviation is about. For more event details visit www.wwfc.ca.
Celebrate mom at the Hats off To Mom, Mother’s Day Brunch and fundraiser for the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region.
