Nissan Kicks CUV to start at $17,988

Nissan Canada has announced a $17,998 starting price for the all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks which goes on sale in June at Nissan dealership­s nationwide.

The newest entry in the fast-growing affordable compact crossover market, the bold new Kicks becomes the sixth member of the Nissan crossover and SUV line-up – which has experience­d record sales in recent years.

The 2018 Nissan Kicks will be offered in three well-equipped front-wheel drive models – Kicks S ($17,998), Kicks SV ($20,898) and Kicks SR ($22,798). Destinatio­n fee is $1,795.

Each is equipped with a standard 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve fourcylind­er with Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS).

The engine delivers 125 hp and 115 lb/ft of torque. Combined with a smooth, fuel-efficient Xtronic transmissi­on, highway fuel economy is rated at 6.6L/100km.

The 2018 Kicks will be offered in a range of five exterior colours – plus five two-tone combinatio­ns.

Three of the two-tone colour schemes utilize a black roof and contrastin­g body colours (white, orange or red), along with the orange roof with gun metallic body and the white roof with blue body.

Inside, Kick’s simple “Gliding Wing” dashboard design is dominated by a centrally mounted 7.0-inch full colour display housing a comprehens­ive infotainme­nt system with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivi­ty.

Safety, security and driver convenienc­e features are strong points for Nissan Kicks. Intelligen­t Emergency Braking (IEB) is standard on all grade levels, along with seven air bags and RearView Monitor

Kicks SR adds Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
