Buick’s attempts to lower the average age of the average Buick buyer led to the creation of the Reatta, a two-seat sporty car, in the Grand Touring tradition of Mercedes and other exotic marquees. Despite its good lines the car did not make much of an impression with the public, never coming close to the goal of 15,000 unit sales.
