1`4-year-old boy’s death ruled homicide

MISSISSAUG­A — Police say they’re investigat­ing the death of a 14-yearold boy as a homicide.

Peel Regional Police Const. Heather Cannon says that the teen’s body was found in a Mississaug­a city park area shortly before 8 a.m. on Friday.

She did not offer details as to how his body was discovered.

The boy has been identified as 14-year-old Riley Martin. Cause of death have not yet been released, and Cannon says there are no suspects in custody.

Cannon says the force’s homicide unit is actively investigat­ing the death. Police had initially said the boy was 13 years old, but later said that he was in fact 14.
