Peacefully passed away among family on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 92. Betty is long at last reunited with her loving husband Gerald (1975). She leaves behind her three children Jim, Pat and Linda. Betty will be remembered as a loving grandmothe­r by her eight grandchild­ren Aaron, Jon, Elspeth, Nick, Eric, Andrew, Michael and Laura and seven great-grandchild­ren Ash, Fin, Josie, Elliot, Orla, Archer and Rae. She is sur- vived by many loving nieces and nephews. Betty is predecease­d by her parents Oscar and Marie Wiles, and was the youngest and last surviving member of her late siblings (and spouses) Martha (Clarke) Dugan, Arthur (Leona) Wiles, Norman "Bill" (Marjorie) Wiles, Peter (Shirley) Wiles, Donald Wiles and Richard "Dick" (Marion and Ann) Wiles, and by niece Sharon Cosner. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Wiles (Donald). Betty was a long time member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kitchener. She was employed after graduating KCI by Dominion Life Assurance Company Waterloo where she met her future husband. She finished her career as a medical secretary at Grand River hospital (KW site) after 25 years in the laboratory department where she became lifelong friends with Helga and Arlene. Betty's family extends their appreciati­on to the caring staff at St. Mary's Hospital, 7th Floor and to Dr.'s B. Bell and C. Harlick for their compas- sionate and profession­al care. To Maurice and Mary, long time neighbours and friends Thank you for everything you did for our mother. In keeping with Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467. As expression­s of sympathy, donations to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region or Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciate­d by the family, cards available at the funeralhom­e.
