BARTON, George Dennis

Born February 20, 1940, passed away peacefully at Innisfree House, Kitchener on February 24, 2021 at the age of 81. After a two year struggle with cancer, Dennis is survived by his loving wife Carol (Schmitt) Barton, celebrating 60 years together. Loving father of three children; Dale (Kathy), Scott (Kellie) and Laurie (Brian) Miller. He will be greatly missed by eight Grandchildren and six Great-grandchildren. Survived by brothers Brad (Bern) Hamacher, Brent (Tracy) Hamacher, brother-inlaw Floyd Benke and many Barton cousins. He will be remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law Gerald (Faye) Schmitt, Doreen (George) Hill, Maynard (Larke), Robert (Allison) and Nancy (Jim) Brown. Predeceased by father George Barton, mother Marion (Leonard) Hamacher, sister Pam Barton (Benke) and nephew Jeff Benke. Also predeceased by his in-laws Harold and Lena Schmitt, sisters-in-law Eunice Schmitt and Martha Woods. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions, a family celebration of life will take place in the spring with interment at Union Cemetery, New Dundee. The family would like to thank Dr. Yew and nurses from Care Partners for helping us through Dennis's cancer journey, and thanks to the wonderful compassionate staff at Innisfree House for helping Dennis pass peacefully and comfortably through his final days.
