Mosque vandalism suspect in court today
The 35-year-old man accused of vandalizing a mosque in Galt is scheduled to appear in a Kitchener courtroom Tuesday for a bail hearing that could get him out of jail. Waterloo Regional Police say the evidence does not point to a crime motivated by racial or religious hatred. It happened July 14 when a suspect forced entry into the Baitul Kareem Mosque, stole property and caused significant damage. Police say the suspect faces charges that include break-and-enter, mischief and drug offences.
