Shootings in Texas were an unbearable display of brutality

My heart goes out to the innocent and beautiful children who are the latest victims of the horrific mass shooting at a Texas elementary school. Nineteen beautiful children and two teachers have been lost in this senseless act of domestic terrorism. Such brutality is pure evil and is just unbearable.

As a proud parent of four children, I cannot fathom the pain and anguish felt by the parents.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, Muslims who believe in the Messiah, I am outraged by these continuous senseless acts. In the Holy Quran, the sanctity and dignity of life is emphasized: “That whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating dis

der in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind.” Unfortunately, these mass shootings are not new to the United States. It is important to come together collectively, in the interest of American citizens, to have comall mon-sense gun reforms and not cave to the strong gun lobbying.

May God grant patience to the victims’ families and the community at large; and may He also guide those who plot such hateful acts to understand the error of their ways. Nomaan Mubashir Cambridge
