FROM DULCE: We got engaged at the top of Ausangate Mountain in

Peru. After four hours of hiking and one twisted ankle (John-Michael’s), we finally reached the summit. John-Michael had been strategizing with the guide about the proposal. After taking some photos, John-Michael got on his knee and asked if I wanted to be his wife; he had been waiting for the right moment the entire trip. Of course I said yes. I wanted our wedding to have a bit of a tropical feel, but still look elegant. We chose orange, pink, yellow and gold as theme colours, which were highlighted by the spectacular flowers. The crew at NDG Florist was phenomenal. The peonies were perfection—a vivid pink with a bright yellow-orange centre! The decor was also beautiful—rustic yet sophisticated. The utensils, plates and chargers looked great together. The table numbers and menus had a touch of green, which really tied the whole motif together. We balanced the rectangular wooden tables with round tables dressed in gold tablecloths. The food

was delicious. The lamb and oysters in particular were to die for, and the black cod and filet mignon were cooked to perfection. The father-daughter dance was very important to me. My dad is getting older, so I was glad to have this experience with him.
