KATE LOEWEN and THOMAS STUART
JUNE 10, 2016
FROM KATE: We were on a road trip to Banff National Park when Thomas proposed. His original plan was to propose in a helicopter ride over the mountains, but it was grounded due to weather. Instead, he popped the question during a hike on the Athabasca Glacier, and I said yes. The next day we went for the rescheduled helicopter ride and the pilot gave us an extra-long ride as an engagement present. Our wedding theme was elegant and timeless. I chose neutral colours that would stand the test of time and always be in style, like white, nude, blush and grey. We also incorporated rose-gold accents to play off the colour of our rings. Surprisingly, one of my favourite moments of the day was when we stopped at McDonald’s on the way to the ceremony. The whole wedding party went in, fully decked out in our wedding attire, and we got a standing ovation. People came over to shake our hands, congratulate us and give us a little marriage advice—it was so cute. Saying our vows during the ceremony was so memorable. In that moment, it wasn’t about the guests or the decor, it was about the love we felt for each other. At the end of the night we let loose and had fun dancing with our guests.
SAYING OUR VOWS DURING THE CEREMONY WAS SO MEMORABLE.
