FROM MELANIE: We envisioned our wedding as a whimsical fairy tale. I love the elegance of greenery and gold; we added simple accents and a mixture of rustic elements. A good friend and her mother made the wooden lanterns we had at the ceremony and as centrepieces for the reception. One of our favourite moments was the speech made by Cory’s dad. It was way over the fiveminute limit, but it came from the heart and was worth every second. We had an awesome candy and popcorn bar—it wasn’t just a table with some items on it. This was inside a big white tent, decorated with gorgeous emerald linens and fresh greenery. There was candy everywhere, popcorn in bags, popcorn to scoop, pretzels…it was overwhelming and I loved it all! The Danny Kramer Dance Band was amazing. I cannot say enough about this classy band, their performance, the sound and how the dance floor was packed until the venue turned on the lights at the end of the night. Cory surprised everyone by jumping up to play the drums with the band. Cory loves playing the drums and has been playing since he was young. It was so much fun seeing him being spontaneous. He and Danny Kramer did an extended version of “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder.
