ANNA LAFOYIANNIS & HAMISH TRENAM
NOVEMBER 8, 2014
FROM ANNA: Hamish and I met in university. We had a mutual friend in class and started talking. We ended up sitting together for the rest of the semester, though we didn’t start dating until a year later when another mutual friend flat- out told us to “finally start dating.” Our wedding day began with a traditional Greek ceremony at St.George’s Orthodox Church. Walking down the aisle to the theme music of
was one of my favourite moments of the day. Even though the morning was rushed, everything calmed down once I stepped out and saw my family and friends. At our reception, we included a lot of our favourite things. Our favours were coffee beans from our go-to coffee shop, Sense Appeal. The apple fritters we served were from a bakery near us, San Remo, which are hands- down the best fritters in the city— guests couldn’t stop raving about them for days afterward. Also, since my family is Greek, we had to have baklava, which we got from Serano Bakery, just off of the Danforth ( Toronto’s Greek neighbourhood). Music played a huge role on our wedding day. We used “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors for cutting the cake— it was an upbeat song choice and it really was the best day of our lives.
