WHY DON’T YOU

- STORIES BY STEVE FISHER

Floatation therapy is a unique way to remove all the stresses from your mind and body, and enjoy a peaceful and relaxed state of tranquility. Whistler’s West Coast Float offers you a chance to shut out the world and let your mind wander with their choice of a personal floatation pod, an open- topped ( and handicapped accessible) tub, or their float cabin with a large enough tub for couples to float together. A typical float session is 90 minutes long, and while it sounds lengthy most people emerge surprised at how quickly it passed. Founder Bob Van Engelsdorp says customers are not instructed on how to float, as different people have different reasons to come. Some are there for injury relief, some to blow off stress, and others are curious to see what their imagination will create with no outside influences. He says the most interesting thing for him is hearing about what people experienced during their float. If you’re looking for some rest and relaxation, West Coast Float is located at # 7- 4433 Sundial Place in Whistler Village. For more information, visit westcoastfloat. com. in Whistler Village.
