ZIPTREK ECOTOURS

-

With a bit (ok, a lot) of height under my belt, it was time to kick the adrenaline up a notch. I headed over to Ziptrek EcoTours for an afternoon of ziplining on their Eagle Tour, which includes five different ziplines. A ‘zipline’ is a pulley system mounted to a steel cable and positioned on an incline. Daring souls harness themselves to the cable and traverse long distances, soaring through the air and witnessing some unbelievable vantage points and breathtaking scenery – not to mention insane speeds. Ziptrek had just unveiled their longest line yet (2,400 ft.), and it was incredible! My zip took me right over the Fitzsimmons Valley to Blackcomb, and I screamed with pure joy during the 30-storey descent. It was a heart-stopping ride nicely balanced with engaging environmental information about the flora and fauna of the area. Ziptrek‘s harness design allows for wacky poses and even a chance to zip upside down – if you dare. Whether it is in the snow, rain or sunshine, no trip to Whistler is complete without a zipline experience.
