Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub

-

There’s no shortage of craic on the Dubh Linn Gate Irish pub’s patio – and not just from the constant entertainment provided by mountain bikers careening over the final drop as they descend Whistler Mountain.

“It’s a great atmosphere outside,” says Bar Supervisor Gordie Auld. “It’s a lot of fun – and a lot of pitchers of beer.”

Musical entertainment comes in the form of Whistler favourites, guitar and fiddle duo, Ruckus Deluxe, with the doors flung open and the band standing half in and half outside the pub.

Auld’s tall Irish Martini is just the thing to get the party started.

“Of course, it’s not a martini at all,” he laughs.

He starts with vodka and pineapple juice in a tall glass then drops crème de cassis into the bottom and garnishes with a wedge of pineapple.

“It’s blue at the bottom, and then green and then yellow,” he says. “Simple, unpretentious and refreshing.”
