“MANGIARE, MANGIARE!”

- - STORY BY STEVE FISHER

During the cold months of winter, there are few things more comforting than a warm, hearty plate of pasta for dinner. When you’re coming off the ski slopes with sore legs and a groaning belly, head to one of Whistler Village’s fine Italian eateries for a hearty meal. Located in the Pinnacle Hotel, Quattro at Whistler has been winning over guests since 1996 with their fantastic Italian cuisine and traditional, romantic ambiance. Restaurant Manager Luc Trottier says ‘Spaghetti Quattro’ is overwhelmingly their most popular dish, and no visit to Whistler is complete until you’ve had a taste of their signature entrée. The recipe was created by the proprietor of Quattro Restaurants Antonio Corsi, and has been on the menu since day one. Trottier describes Spaghetti Quattro’s ingredients and flavour as “… minced chicken, garlic, chilies and black beans, olive oil for the base; a little bit spicy and highly addictive!” You can also watch Quattro at Whistler’s Executive Chef Jeremie Trottier’s online instructional video on preparing Spaghetti Quattro at quattrorestaurants.com. Other great Italian eateries to experience include Caramba, caramba-restaurante.com and Chef Umberto Menghi’s two Whistler restaurants - Il Caminetto di Umberto and Trattoria, umberto.com/restaurants. Pasta Lupino is also a local’s favourite, both for their delicious dinner entrées and reasonably-priced lunch specials, pastalupino.com.
