The Real Estate Association of Whistler (REAW) welcomes you to Whistler!

As one of the two million plus visitors coming to our resort each year, we know you are about to experience the very best of everything this world-class resort has to offer.

Your short visit may lead to a life-changing epiphany that Whistler is where you want to be or at least have a foothold within the resort, a decision that so many others before you have already taken. Whistler currently has over 10,000 permanent residents and 11,500 second-home owners. We can go from a village to a town overnight with accommodation occupancy for 55,000+ people.

Over the years, Whistler has become the home of choice for many ex-pats who have given up the ‘rat race’ in exchange for the quality of life and the safe and beautiful environment that our resort has to offer. We now have one of the most Cosmopolitan demographics within Canada, and over 50 languages are spoken here. Our Board of Directors is made up of at least one representative from each of the nine real estate companies in Whistler. Our Association mandate is “to establish, maintain and regulate the Real Estate Association of Whistler, and to increase public confidence in and respect for those engaged in real estate in Whistler.” So what does this mean for you, the client? The short answer is that it will give you peace of mind and confidence that you are receiving the highest level of expertise and guidance into our unique market. By sharing our knowledge and education, each licensed Whistler realtor will provide invaluable advice before you sign on the dotted line.

For example, did you know that the Resort Municipality of Whistler has different zoning bylaws than most other areas in Canada?

Do you know where to begin to look for different financing options?

Are you aware of the legal and tax implications if you are a non-resident of Canada?

Do you know where and what to look for should you be interested in purchasing a property that will generate some passive income while you are not using it?

Do you know what effect the local-zoning bylaws and building regulations will have on your plans to build your dream home, and where to find that perfect piece of property on which to build it?

Our REAW members can provide you with the knowledge and expertise you need to find your perfect Whistler home. We hope that we have provided you with the confidence that you are in good hands when using one of our local real estate agents.
