The tra­di­tional im­age of a chop­house as a dark and smoky bas­tion of fat and sin doesn’t ap­ply to Sidecut, a mod­ern steak restau­rant and bar that show­cases a trio of su­per­food sal­ads along­side the meat. Tangy hemp and kale sprin­kled with dried blue­ber­ries; nutty quinoa and spinach is for­ti­fied with earthy beets; hearty lentils and chard are tossed with goji berries, rhubarb and all sorts of crunchy good­ness. “Our cus­tomers love steak, but they also re­ally love th­ese sal­ads,” Chef de Cui­sine David Baarsch­ers says, not­ing that the su­per­food sal­ads have been so pop­u­lar, they’ve ex­panded the con­cept into the breakfast menu with a new set of morn­ing power bowls. 604-966-5280 | side­
