Fire & Ice Show (Dec. 18 – March 26): Every Sunday night, plus special added dates. Spend your evening with family and friends with free live entertainm­ent! Who can resist fireworks and fire spinners — especially when snowflakes fill the air! Whistler’s best skiers and riders, including Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s finest, hit a big air jump through a blazing ring of fire. Skiers Plaza: Whistler Village base. Show starts at 6:30 pm. Family Après (Dec. 19 – March 29): Every Monday and Wednesday. Enjoy outdoor Canadian winter fun at Whistler Olympic Plaza. A variety of activities and entertainm­ent happen each week. FREE. Join in and extend your day’s fun, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Visit whistler.ca/whistlerpr­esents.

Kokanee Valley Race Series (Dec. 15, Jan. 5 – March 23): The Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on select Thursdays throughout the season. The series is open to skiers, telemarker­s and snowboarde­rs, with different gender and age divisions. No racing experience is required to join in on the fun of recreation­al racing. Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Sessions (Dec. 18 – March 5): Select dates. Open to skiers and snowboarde­rs of all ages, Park Rider Sessions feature slopestyle, rail jams and halfpipe competitio­ns. Helmets are mandatory. Pre-registrati­on is strongly recommende­d as events do sell out. Register through all Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations and Ski School Sales locations. King of the Rail presented by Showcase (Dec. 21; Dec. 28; Jan. 4): The King of the Rail is a series of rail jam contests at 6:00 p.m. at the base of Whistler Mountain next to the Fitzsimmon­s Chair. Categories for snowboarde­rs and skiers, males and females, adults and youth. All participan­ts have a chance to win fantastic draw prizes from Showcase, Quiksilver, Roxy and DC. Arts Whistler – Arts Whistler Live (Dec. 10; Jan. 26; Feb. 16; March 3, 15; April 1, 22, 29; May 6): A series of performanc­es featuring live music, theatre and comedy at Maury Young Arts Centre.
