WHAT WE LOVE NOW

-

The Thunderbird Café is an off-the-beaten-path coffee and lunch spot that highlights the unique style of First Nations cuisine. Bannock bread, a traditional, native fry bread, is served with a bowl of hot, creamy chowder packed with sockeye salmon; or try the bannock taco-style, topped with homemade venison chili. It’s a stunning place to enjoy lunch as it’s located on the lower level of the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. You don’t have to purchase entry to the museum to visit the café, but you might be tempted to visit once you’ve been surrounded by great First Nations artwork and heard the drumming coming from the upstairs gallery. The adjacent gift shop showcases local First Nations artists, which is a perfect place to find something unique to take home. slcc.ca
