EDITOR’S NOTE

-

As the seasons change, bringing cooler temperatures, you can sense the anticipation of another exciting season of bundling up for snow fun and adventure, followed by fireside après when we recount the day’s experiences over hot chocolate (or hot toddies) and belly-warming comfort food.

Change can often be fraught with challenges and calls for an open mind and willingness to adapt. As eager visitors, ski and snowboard enthusiasts and seasoned locals embrace the change of seasons in Whistler, the resort has seen several notable changes, both on-mountain and in the Village. With Whistler Blackcomb’s succession to a Vail Resorts operation now in its second winter, frequent visitors and diehard locals will likely have noticed a change to the “vibe” of Whistler and an increase in new visitors, perhaps some Vail Resorts passholders — some of whom may not have previously considered visiting the resort.

As access for visitors to the mountains is upgraded and lift capacity increases, pass options, shopping, dining and activity options also expand. That, in turn, increases Whistler’s popularity as a vacation destination, bringing new visitors from a wider area. You may meet people from unexpected places! Yes, the experience in Whistler may feel a little bit different, but the welcoming reception Whistler as a community offers to visitors remains as warm as ever.

If you need assistance during your visit, ask a local! We are happy to share our “insider” tips.

We hope that you will make the most of your visit to Whistler and our surrounding Sea to Sky communities. However you choose to fill your itinerary, venture out, discover and experience all that our resort community offers. We look forward to sharing our little piece of paradise with you and welcoming you back again soon.
