EDITOR’S NOTE
As we prepare to enter a new decade, it is important to take some time to reflect on the current one, perhaps reminisce about your path and maybe even evaluate the quality of the journey over the past 10 years. That includes where you started, the challenges faced and conquered, your experiences along the way, what you have learned and where you find yourself now. For Joern and I, our journey with Whistler Traveller began in the summer of 2009, with a vision brought to life by close friends. It is unlikely that we ever imagined back then that Whistler Traveller magazine would become ours, and that we would have the privilege of continuing the journey of providing visitors to Whistler with a high-quality, content-rich resource to read as a complement to their stay. Of course, that would not be possible without our supportive and creative team of writers, editors, photographers, printers, and our exceptional designers, who bring all the pieces to life. Most importantly, we thank our partners who continue to believe in our product, as well as the many distribution channels that facilitate getting Whistler Traveller to you, our discerning readers. We are very pleased to be celebrating 10 years and look forward to all that the future decade holds, both personally and professionally. But, for now, let’s live in the present and take the opportunity to appreciate and experience all that Whistler and the Sea to Sky Corridor have to offer. In this issue, we invite you to take in a world-class museum exhibition at the Audain Art Museum (p. 24 – 27); find your zone on Whistler and Blackcomb (p. 30); make some memories experiencing Whistler’s frozen adventures (p. 42) and some very unique winter activities (p. 46); enjoy some seasonal creations by top Whistler chefs (p. 54); learn about the Whistler gallery artists who are influencing their field (p. 82); relax and reconnect with your partner at the spa (p. 78); and much, much more! Thank you for sharing this issue with us. Enjoy!
