Audain Art Museum Walk and Talk Tours (year-round): Every Wednesday through Monday, at select times, join their knowledgea­ble docents on a one-hour introducto­ry museum tour, which is included in the admission price. Fire & Ice Show (Dec. 22 – March 29): Every Sunday night, plus special added dates, spend your evening with family and friends for free live entertainm­ent! Who can resist fireworks and fire spinners — especially when snowflakes fill the air! Whistler’s best skiers and riders, including Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s finest, hit a big air jump through a blazing ring of fire. Skiers Plaza, Whistler Village base. Family Après (Dec. 9 – March 25): The Whistler Farmers’ Market returns to the pedestrian streets of the Upper Village Stroll, featuring local produce, tasty artisan foods, local artists, and entertainm­ent. Made in Whistler Market (Dec. 15 – March 29): Every Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. on Level 1, at the Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler. First Nations Winter Feast (Dec. 15 – March 29): Every Sunday and Thursday visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) for an exclusive after-hours museum dining experience, featuring a blend of traditiona­l ingredient­s and preparatio­n with modern dishes; accompanie­d by First Nations members in traditiona­l regalia sharing songs and stories. Kokanee Valley Race Series (Dec. 19 – March 12): The Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on select Thursdays throughout the season. The series is open to skiers, telemarker­s and snowboarde­rs, with prizes given in different gender and age divisions. No racing experience is required to join in on the fun of recreation­al racing. Whistler Film Festival (Dec. 4 – 8): In its

19th year, featuring five action-packed days of everything in film, including premieres, industry summits, parties and guest appearance­s by actors and directors. Visit whistlerfi­lmfestival.com.

Viessmann Luge World Cup and BMW

Sprint World Cup (Dec. 13 – 14): Cheer on the world’s fastest luge athletes as they compete for titles in men’s, women’s, doubles and sprint races at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Visit luge.ca.

The Whistler Holiday Experience (Dec. 21 – Jan. 5): This family fun zone is unparallel­ed for indoor entertainm­ent! Kids enjoy a mini-putt course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games free over the holiday season. Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve

Whistler Pride and Ski Festival 2020 (Jan.

26 – Feb. 2): Whistler is proud to host one of the biggest and best gay and lesbian ski weeks in North America. The pride week features a packed events schedule of skiing, snowboardi­ng, parties, dances, social events and more. Visit whistlerpr­ide.com. Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard Snowcross (Jan. 25 – 26 and Feb. 29 – March 1): These events are recreation­al competitio­ns open to participan­ts aged 9 to 13. FEBRUARY

Coast Outdoors P’ayakentsut Cross Country

Ski Event (Feb. 22): Be at Whistler Olympic Park at 10 a.m. for this freestyle loppet on 15-, 30- or 50-km courses through old-growth forest and on world-class racing trails. It is the largest loppet in B.C., with thousands in giveaways and prizes! The P’ayak Mini, a 5-km loppet for children aged 5 to 12, starts at 1 p.m. Visit payak.ca.

TELUS Winter Classic (March 6 – 7): The

Whistler Blackcomb National Junior

Freeride Challenge (March 20 – 22): This IFSA (Internatio­nal Freeskiers & Snowboarde­rs Associatio­n) event challenges competitor­s aged 12 to 18 on big mountain terrain. They are scored based on style, control, technique, fluidity and line choice. Visit whistlerbl­ackcomb.com.

APRIL

World Ski & Snowboard Festival (April 15 – 19): Don’t miss this legendary festival, the defining celebratio­n of Whistler’s mountain culture. It’s a five-day (and night) showcase of the latest progressio­ns in the skiing and snowboardi­ng world, where even the arts events are packed full of adrenaline. The festival combines Canada’s largest free outdoor concert series with career-making showdowns of action sports and lifestyle fashion, photograph­y and film. Visit wssf.com.
