Bruce County’s expanding cultural opportunit­ies and resources can be explored at www.brucecount­y. on.ca/culture.

This new online cultural hub connects residents and visitors with extensive and enriching programmin­g and resources available at Bruce County Public Libraries and the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre as well as local festivals, events, and cultural business supports through Explore the Bruce, according to a news release from the county.

Culture is important to individual­s, communitie­s and the economy because it creates opportunit­ies for shared experience, enhances quality of life, promotes a sense of vitality, and encourages job creation and innovation across various economic sectors.

“The unique identity of Bruce County is supported by a rich tapestry of cultural assets and natural resources. Through strategic planning and mutual cooperatio­n, we honour and celebrate the diverse heritage, culture, and artistic expression­s that shape the character of local communitie­s and the County as a whole,” said Bruce County Warden Chris Peabody.

Bruce County’s Cultural Action Plan (CAP) recognizes, incorporat­es, celebrates, and preserves Bruce County’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.The CAP identifies key opportunit­ies for growth in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors, including building cultural

capacities, developing and maintainin­g cultural assets, enhancing cultural communicat­ion, implementi­ng coordinate­d cultural planning, and fostering engagement with Indigenous communitie­s.Explore Bruce County’s Cultural Action Plan.
