Sharks

-

Sharks don’t technically have the most teeth in their mouth at one time, but how could we talk about creatures with lots of teeth without talking about sharks? Sharks are classified as cold-blooded fish that are constantly shedding their teeth and growing new sets over the course of their lives. They can grow up to 50,000 individual teeth (that would be a LOT of flossing, and no, we aren’t talking about the dance moves). Shark teeth are positioned in rows in their mouths, and those rows get pushed forward as a shark loses and regrows its teeth. Sharks usually lose at least one tooth per week, so — with over 500 different known species of sharks — that’s probably why people often find shark teeth washed up on the beach.
