AIMING GAME

Winter is here, and there’s lots of fun to be had outside!

MATERIALS

• A stick

• A collection of small stones

• Snow (if there’s no snow where you are, bring a few long pieces of rope or string)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Look around outside for a stick and some small stones.

2. Find a flat snowy area.

3. Use the stick to draw a big circle in the snow.

4. Now, draw a smaller circle inside the big circle. 5. Stand back and take turns trying to throw your rocks into the circles.

• Who can throw a stone into the smallest circle first?

HELPFUL HINTS

• If there’s no snow where you are, use the string you brought to make circles on the ground.

SAFETY

1. If it’s cold outside, make sure you’re wearing enough warm clothes. 2. Before you try to throw a rock in the snow circles, look around to make sure it’s safe! QUESTIONS 1. What was your favourite part of the game? 2. Can you think of other games you could play in the snow?
