MARKING THE SEASON WITH SONG
The Town of Amherstburg and the Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce hosted the River Lights Winter Festival Friday. A choir of student volunteers from General Amherst high school braved the cold wind off the Detroit River while performing. Hundreds of people crowded the King’s Navy Yard Park for the festive ceremonies, which included a tree lighting and fireworks. With a chill in the air, many said they were feeling the Christmas spirit. “This is where we like
to come to get in the mood,” said Elaine Zaborek as she looked on at the light displays along the waterfront.
