Police seek man in purse-snatching
Windsor police are investigating an attempted purse snatching in South Windsor Sunday.
A woman was in the area of Cabana and Walker roads, walking home at about 5:30 p.m. She saw a male walking in the opposite direction near Bliss Road and Lappan Street, police said.
The woman was shoved from behind and someone grabbed at her purse, police said. The man fled the scene. The woman was not hurt.
The man was in his early 20s, police said, with light facial hair, medium build, about 5-foot-10 and wearing jogging pants and grey zip-up hoodie.
Police are asking anyone who saw anything in this area at this time to call them at 519255-6799, ext. 4830, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).
Man arrested for drugs, hurting pup
Windsor police say a local man was taken into custody after his puppy was found injured in his apartment along with a large amount of marijuana.
Officers were called to an apartment in the 8700 block of Wyandotte Street East at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Witnesses reported hearing a man yelling and a dog yelping, police said.
Inside the apartment, officers found a four- monthold lab- husky mix in the bathroom, said police. The puppy appeared to have sustained a recent injury, said police.
The 20-year-old resident was arrested for possession of a drug for purposes of trafficking and also for injuring or endangering an animal.

She’s getting closer to the big stage, one song at a time.
LaSalle resident Danielle Wade, 20, was chosen on the weekend to compete in CBC’s Over the Rainbow — a show that searches for an actress to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Wade “melted viewers with a sincere and elegant version of Moon River,” on Sunday’s show and received top marks from the judging panel, aa show blog said.
The grand-prize winner will perform Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of the musical in Toronto.
