The Windsor Stars ended the regular season in the Canadian Soccer League with a 6-1 victory against the North York Stars at Esther Shiner Stadium in North York Saturday.

Emilio Giorgi and Stephen Ademolu scored two goals apiece and Wade Allen and David Kadoic added goals for the Stars.

Having already locked up fourth place and home-field advantage with a 12-6-4 record, the Stars will host a quarterfinal game Saturday or Sunday against either the York Region Shooters or TFC Academy.

The Stars must wait for TFC Academy’s final game of the season Wednesday night, when they take on the Montreal Impact Academy.

If TFC wins, they will pass York Region for fifth place in the standings and take on Windsor in the quarter-final.

“We have to be ready either way,” Stars head coach Steve Vagnini said. “We won’t really change our style.

“That home-field advantage is huge for us.”
