NHL talks
The NHL and NHL Players’ Association likely won’t discuss economics when collective bargaining talks resume this week.
The sides have agreed to sit down together in New York Wednesday and Thursday, but deputy commissioner Bill Daly said he expects the conversation to cover secondary issues, including “health and safety, medical care, drug testing, rent and mortgage reimbursements (and) grievances.”
Zetterberg overseas
Detroit Red Wings centre Henrik Zetterberg signed a deal with Swiss club EV Zug.
“I wanted to wait a little bit before going, but the last few weeks the indication is it’s going to be tougher and tougher to get spots there,’’ Zetterberg told mlive.com.
“I just want to be ready when (the season) starts over here again.”
