Windsor Lancers freshman Kayah Clarke was named OUA women’s basketball West Division’s rookie of the year on Tuesday.

Clarke is the first Lancer to win the award since Jessica Clemencon in 2010. Clarke, who was also named to the OUA all-rookie team, started 17 games for the Lancers and was third on the team averaging 11.5 points per game before suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament that Lancers head coach Chantal Vallee said could sideline her for the entire 2017-18 season.

Windsor’s Emily Prevost was named a first-team all-star on Tuesday while Cheyanne Roger was named a second-team all-star.

A fourth-year senior, Prevost led the OUA with 73 offensive rebounds and 135 defensive rebounds. She also led the Lancers in scoring with an average of 14.5 points per game, which put her among the league’s top 10 in scoring. It’s the second straight year Prevost has been named a first-team all-star.

In 18 games this season, Roger averaged 11.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
