Chatham-Kent police arrest man after pursuit

Chatham-Kent police arrested a man after a police pursuit early Saturday morning. Around 2 a.m., an officer approached a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The vehicle then fled the area. Police pursued until the vehicle hit a tree after losing control. The driver then fled the area on foot. K9 Arry, a police dog, located the male suspect on a residentia­l rooftop. The suspect was arrested and is in custody. Police say the man broke into the gated property where he was first sighted by police. A 31-year-old Chatham man is charged with break and enter, possession of break-in tools, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, failure to comply and several traffic-related offences.
