Teenagers identified as suspects in convenience store robbery
A 15-year-old male is facing charges, there’s a warrant for the arrest of a 16-year-old male, and a third suspect remains to be identified in relation to a convenience store robbery that happened in Windsor last month.
Windsor police said the 15-yearold they identified and took into custody has been charged with robbery and wearing a mask while committing an offence.
Police have also identified the 16-year-old male who appeared to be armed with handgun during the robbery. They’ve issued a warrant for his arrest. He’s now wanted on charges of robbery, possession of a firearm while prohibited, wearing a mask while committing an offence, and failure to comply with a sentence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The third person involved in the crime — likely a teenage male — has yet to be identified. He appeared to be armed with a knife.
A security camera captured images of him in the store. He’s described as a white male who was wearing a black hooded jacket with a white stripe across the chest and upper back. He was also wearing black pants and white running shoes with black soles. His face was covered with a white fabric.
None of the accused in the case can be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The crime happened on the night of May 4, around 9:40 p.m., at Elias Convenience, 61 Shepherd St. E.
Three masked males entered the business brandishing what looked like a pistol and a knife.
The lone store employee fled to a secure place in the building. The robbers grabbed some merchandise and ran out of the store. They were seen fleeing on foot north toward the 1400 block of Dufferin Place. No one was hurt.
