Janis Joplin tribute, Styx to perform at Caesars

- DALSON CHEN

You can take another little piece of my heart or come sail away at Caesars Windsor this November.

The touring version of the Broadway show A Night with Janis Joplin and classic soft rock band Styx have been added to the fall lineup of concerts at The Colosseum.

A Night with Janis Joplin — written and directed by Randy Johnson — pays tribute to the late legendary psychedelic-era singer with a combination of theatrical and musical performance.

Mary Bridget Davies will take the stage in the starring role of Joplin, telling stories of her life and leading renditions of such hits as Piece of My Heart, Me and Bobby McGee, and Summertime.

The concert takes place Nov. 4 at 9 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20, and go on sale Sept. 1 at noon. It’s for ages 19 and older only.

One week later, The Colosseum will welcome back U.S. rock band Styx. The Chicago-formed band had multi-platinum albums in the late 1970s and early 1980s with radio hits as Lady, Come Sail Away, Renegade, Babe, and Mr. Roboto.

The band is touring to support its latest album, The Mission. The concert is Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. Ticket prices start at $30, going on sale Sept. 1. 19 and older only.
