OPP name worker killed on the job
Police have released the name of the man who died in an incident at a concrete girder company on Walker Road last week. Michael Gerald Cobb, 24, was killed April 12 at a work site belonging to Prestressed Systems Inc. (PSI). A second worker suffered serious injuries. Arrangements for Cobb have been made with McKinlay Funeral Homes in Chatham. According to Cobb’s obituary, he was born and raised in Chatham. He is survived by his parents four siblings, two nieces, and many extended family members. Ontario’s Ministry of Labour is continuing to investigate the mishap. Prestressed Systems Inc. is a Windsor-based company that manufactures and installs concrete structures and components for building and infrastructure projects. LIUNA Local 625, which represents PSI employees, has suggested that an equipment malfunction caused the mishap.
