Open house set for Howe bridge

The Wind­sor-Detroit Bridge Au­thor­ity is host­ing a pub­lic open house Tues­day for res­i­dents in­ter­ested in learn­ing more about the Gordie Howe In­ter­na­tional Bridge project. The event takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in­side the Court Au­di­to­rium at Macken­zie Hall, lo­cated at 3277 Sand­wich St. Pre­sen­ta­tions will take place at 3:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Staff will be on hand to an­swer ques­tions about the project. The pri­vate-sec­tor con­sor­tium tasked with con­struct­ing the Howe bridge will be se­lected by the bridge au­thor­ity in June with con­struc­tion sched­uled to be­gin this fall. The project in­cludes the cross­ing, plazas and new feeder roads in Detroit to link with the I-75 free­way.
