Drivers the issue, not Highway 3

Windsor Star - - OPINION -

I am tired of hearing how unsafe Highway 3 is. The problem is not the road, it is the drivers.

In the early morning hours, I have witnessed people pull out and pass 12 cars at a time. Passing on a solid line is normal. The OPP are not to blame. They can’t be everywhere. Bad drivers are everywhere. Everybody is in a hurry and they are always late. I am really beginning to think someone is issuing driver’s licences free in candy boxes. In the past 10 years, I have seen three school buses run off the road. I would have reported these bad drivers, but I would have had to drive as bad as they do just to get a plate number to report. There is no answer to this problem. Get a ticket, pay your lawyer and you are back on the road — nothing learned or fixed. I have no problem with stupid drivers trying to kill themselves on our roads. I do have a problem with them taking innocent people with them.
