Three suspects in bloody assault surrender

Three men have turned themselves over to Windsor police after they allegedly were involved in an assault incident that left a man bleeding from the head.

Two of the adult male suspects went to Windsor police headquarte­rs to be arrested on Tuesday, and the remaining suspect attended on Wednesday morning. Police said the three suspects had been previously identified through the investigat­ion of the major crimes branch.

The crime occurred on Aug. 24 sometime before 1:45 a.m. in an alley on Giles Boulevard West east of Bruce Avenue.

Patrol officers responded to a disturbanc­e there to find a group of people, in which there was a man with a bloody head wound. The victim told police he’d just been attacked. He was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries considered serious. Investigat­ors determined that there were three assailants in the altercatio­n, and some of the parties knew each other. Christophe­r Wallace, 26, of Windsor, has been charged with aggravated assault. Joshua Dresser, 31, of Belle River, has also been charged with aggravated assault. Gregory Lewis, 31, of Windsor, has been charged with aggravated assault and breach of probation.
