Queer Eye star discusses suicide
Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown has urged his followers to look after their mental health after opening up about a suicide attempt in 2006. On Thursday, Brown, who specializes in culture on the Netflix series, shared a video to his Twitter and Instagram accounts. “Today in 2006, I did attempt to commit suicide. I was in a very dark place. I just felt like life could not get any better. Everything that was happening to me was never going to change, and I tried to take my own life,” he says, before thanking his friends, who reportedly found him and phoned an ambulance. Brown, a trained psychotherapist, also shared words of encouragement and asked fans to help those struggling.
