PM is no defender of the middle class

-

When is enough, enough? Canadians deserve better from our elected politicians in Ottawa, especially the Prime Minister. What happened to “sunny ways,” openness, transparency, and a new way of doing business promised by Justin Trudeau?

As soon as he got the keys to the PMO, those promises quickly went out the window. The scandal with SNC-Lavalin, while serious, is yet another misstep in a long series of scandals, poor policies, and miscalculations by the Trudeau government. First it was reneging on his “modest deficit” promise. Canadians and future generations are now straddled with massive deficits with no end in sight. I don’t even want to think of the state of the government’s finances in the next economic downturn. Next, the $10.5 million pay- out to a convicted terrorist. Or could it be his multiple ethics violations, including being the first Prime Minister to be found in violations of the commons ethics rules, for his “free” vacation to the Aga Khan’s private island. Doesn’t sound like he is the defender of the middle class he claims to be. Let’s not get started on the disastrous India trip or his bungling of China-Canada relations. Economically, Trudeau’s government has waged war on the energy industry, chasing out hundreds of billions of dollars in investment and costing Canada hundreds of thousands of jobs. Worst of all, is the Liberal government’s nonchalant sanctimonious attitude to all of the scandals and missteps. They believe they have the right to govern, while in reality it is a privilege bestowed upon them by the people. Canadians deserve better than this. In October it is time we showed the Trudeau Liberals the door. Scott Fenn, Tecumseh
