My Biography.

Anthonia Abimbola Aborode migrated from Nigeria to Canada on November 17th, 2012 with her husband and two children. She eventually had her third baby on the 22nd of February 2013. Anthonia has a bachelor degree in Accounting and is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA).

When they came to Canada, Anthonia decided to continue her career path in Accounting. The first step toward this was the enrolment in the Management Training Program (MTP) organized by the Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor (WEST) Inc., in partnership with CPA and Odette School of Business. It was a CPA PREP Program for women who aspired to pursue Accounting profession. After completing the CPA PREP program, she progressed on the career path to obtain CPA designation in 2017. Concurrently, she was also pursuing another Accounting designation program with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom. Both programs (ACCA and CPA) were completed leading to the award of Associate member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Associate member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA).

Through the CPA PREP Program at WEST, in 2014 Anthonia completed a work placement at Patricia Brown Barrister and Solicitor as an accounting assistant. After the completion of the placement, she was hired on as a full-time accounting staff where she continued to work until 2017. She left the Law office of Patricia and worked briefly with Shoppers Home Health Care until April 2018. Afterwards, Anthonia was hired at Quick draw tarpaulin systems where she is currently the Accounting Manager for groups of companies in Canada and United States.

Testimonial from Anthonia:

“I will say the road to success could be challenging but it pays to take the path. My success story cannot be completed without saying a big thank you to WEST as the organization was the first point of contact, I interacted with and I cannot but remember the encouraging words one of the team members gave me when I was challenged with raising three kids without the support of their father who had to return to Nigeria for some years before he relocated back to Canada.

I am a well determined and focused individual that believes in success and to trust God that all things are possible. My hobbies are reading, singing and exercising and I just want to tell everyone out there that “where there is a will there is always a way”.
