Credit union one of best places to work in Canada

- DAVE WADDELL

The Windsor Family Credit Union has been named one of the best places to work in Canada for the third straight year.

The annual survey done by business consulting firm Great Place to Work Institute placed WFCU 37th out of 50 companies in the category for firms with 100 to 999 employees.

“As we all know, 2020 was a year unlike any other,” WFCU CEO/ president Eddie Francis said.

“This Great Place to Work certification and Best Workplaces in Canada award has always been meaningful, but this year it has a greater significance.

“Our employees went above and beyond to deliver an unwavering level of commitment and exceptional service to our members and communities we serve. I am very proud to know that the feedback our staff provided demonstrated that they felt this same level of commitment in return.”

WFCU was the only local company to be named in one of the four categories.

Companies were divided into firms with 1,000-plus employees, 100 to 999, 50 to 99 and under 50.

The rankings of companies were the result of a confidential survey of 82,000 employees across Canada.

Two-thirds of a company's score came from the survey and one third from an in-depth review of the company's culture.

“The employee experience at WFCU Credit Union has always focused on ensuring that our staff feel recognized, connected with our workplace culture and values, and that they know they are all an integral part of the WFCU family,” Francis said.

“As workplaces continue to see changes that we have never experienced before, this will always continue to be our focus at WFCU Credit Union.”
