Charges have been laid after a gun was reportedly pointed at someone trying to make a food delivery in Windsor's Meadowbrook neighbourhood on Tuesday evening, police say.

Patrol officers responded around 5 p.m. to a call about an altercation between two men in the 2600 block of Meadowbrook Lane in the city's east end.

The victim, who was working as a food courier, told police he had been trying to make a delivery and had asked a man for help in locating the address.

The suspect reportedly reacted with fury and became verbally abusive to the victim. An altercation ensued, ending with the suspect drawing a firearm and pointing it at the victim.

The suspect fled the scene in a black Lexus before officers arrived.

However, police obtained a description of him and the license plate of the vehicle.

The vehicle was found about 15 minutes later unattended in the 5500 block of Lassaline Avenue.

With the help of a police dog, Windsor police tracked the suspect to a nearby residence.

The area was contained and members of the tactical team (Emergency Services Unit) attended the location.

The suspect exited the residence around 6:25 p.m. and was promptly arrested by ESU members.

Both the victim and the suspect sustained injuries in their altercations.

Police said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening and the suspect's injuries were minor.

Members of the Windsor police Major Crime Unit continued to investigate. A warrant was obtained to search the suspect vehicle and the residence on Lassaline Avenue.

The search for evidence was ongoing at press time.

Gevanne Miles, 26, of Windsor, now faces charges of uttering threats, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
