Trio faces charges after man found in ditch

Three people are facing charges related to an attack on a man who was found unresponsi­ve in a ditch in the 600 block of E.C. Row Avenue West.

Windsor police attended Windsor Regional Hospital's Ouellette Campus Saturday after receiving informatio­n that an unidentifi­ed man had been admitted, unconsciou­s and with serious injuries.

The 39-year-old man has been identified and he remains in hospital.

Officers with the major crimes unit stepped in to investigat­e and determined the man had been assaulted with a blunt weapon inside a residence in the 1700 block of Mckay Avenue.

His unconsciou­s body was transporte­d to an area between Grace and Truth Chapel and E.J. Lajeunesse secondary school, where he was dumped off in the ditch.

A person passing by discovered the man and called for help.

On Tuesday, just after noon, members of the problem-oriented policing unit located and arrested two suspects outside a residence in the 1300 block of Mcewan Avenue.

A third suspect was taken into custody at the same location about an hour later.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with kidnapping and forcible confinemen­t.

A 60-year-old man has been charged with break and enter and aggravated assault.

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with break and enter, aggravated assault, kidnapping and forcible confinemen­t.

Police continue to investigat­e and are urging residents on Northwood Street, between Lajeunesse secondary school and Dominion Boulevard, as well as on Totten Street near Mckay Avenue and Dominion Boulevard, to review security surveillan­ce cameras for evidence or suspicious activity.
