Lasalle police on the hunt for pizza-toting burglary suspect
Man broke into home and stole several valuable items including cash, jewelry
Lasalle police are searching for a suspect seen carrying a pizza box before breaking into an Outram Avenue residence on the weekend.
Police said home security footage captured an image of a man holding a pizza box who is alleged to have entered the residence on Saturday, March 9, between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. after ringing the doorbell.
When there was no answer at the door, the suspect broke into the home and stole several valuable items including cash and jewelry, according to police.
The residents returned home a short time later, discovered the break-in and contacted police.
After reviewing home security footage from the residence and from nearby residences, investigators believe there were more than two people involved in the break and enter.
One suspect is described as a white man with a beard and short brown hair. He wore a blue baseball hat with a logo on the left side, a face mask, white or blue medical gloves, a black jacket or hoodie with white drawstrings, white T-shirt, black jogging pants and white running shoes.
Police are not releasing further details at this time, they said, “to preserve the integrity of the investigation.”
Lasalle police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. The also recommend reporting any suspicious activity, at any hour of the day, immediately to police.
