Quickley, Barrett set to return to Raptors

Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett, of Mississaug­a, Ont., will likely return to the Toronto Raptors' lineup Tuesday.

Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic says they will both be listed as probable against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Both Quickley and Barrett missed time as they grieved the loss of loved ones.

Quickley took a leave following the death of his uncle Shawn Hamilton on March 20. Barrett's 19-yearold brother Nathan Barrett died on March 14.

Toronto is mired in a 13game losing skid as most of its starters have been on the team's inactive list.

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor Mcdavid

was named the NHL'S first star of the week Monday after leading all players with eight points over three games last week.

Mcdavid had three goals and five assists over the stretch to help the Oilers win three straight games.

Entering Monday's games, the five-time Art Ross Trophy winner was third in the NHL with 29 goals and 125 points this season, two back of Colorado's Nathan Mackinnon (47 goals).

Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson was named second star and Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere took the third star.

Liberty Media Corp., the American

company that owns Formula One, will add to its global racing portfolio with the purchase of the Motogp motorcycle racing series by the end of the year, Motogp officials announced Monday.

Liberty Media will acquire about 86 per cent of Spain-based Dorna Sports, which owns the commercial and television rights for Motogp, for about US$4.5 billion. Dorna said it would remain an independen­t company run by Carmelo Ezpeleta, the series' chief executive since 1994.

Liberty took over Formula One in 2017 and oversaw its growth in recent years, notably with the popular Netflix series Drive to Survive, and the addition of races in Miami and Las Vegas in the United States.

Motogp, the premier racing series for motorcycle­s, will hold 21 grand prix races on four continents in 2024. The next race is the Grand Prix of the Americas at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, on April 14.

The University of Tennessee fired

Kellie Harper Monday as the Lady Vols coach after five seasons.

Athletic director Danny White said he told Harper the university was making a change after a “thorough review ” of the women's basketball program.

Harper finished her tenure coaching at her alma mater with a 108-52 record, including 53-24 in Southeaste­rn Conference play. She had become one of only two coaches to take four different programs to the NCAA Tournament.

White said he talked with the Lady Vols and plans an aggressive search for the next leader of a program with eight national championsh­ips.

Tennessee hasn't won a national title since 2008.
