They say: A collection of luxury skin care from the Korean brand Sulwhasoo that harnesses the power of ginseng berry SR to “recapture skin's youth.” The range, which features packaging inspired by the Korean moon jar, includes an eye cream, serum and face cream.

We say: This luxe skin care collection delivers on its claims of smoothing skin. A little goes a long way. Our tester put the collection to the test in place of her usual skin care products and reports seeing a noticeable reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and improvement in skin texture overall.

HERMÈS HERMESSENCE OUD ALEZAN

They say: An eau de parfum that features “enveloping oud” set against a bouquet of roses. Established in 2004, the Hermessence collection is about fragrance mastery, seeing the French luxury brand's perfumer weave together two raw materials to create a “subtle and majestic” olfactory experience.

We say: This unisex fragrance is “divine,” our tester reports. With resinous wood notes at first spritz, the fragrance dries down with a rich blend of roses. It's warm, a bit spicy and oh-so wearable.

ELIZABETH ARDEN RETINOL + HPR CERAMIDE CAPSULES RAPID SKIN RENEWING SERUM

They say: A new addition to the retinol capsule collection from Elizabeth Arden, this launch sees a “next-generation retinoid” that's billed as being 10 times more powerful than pure retinol, along with ceramides and peptides to sooth the skin.

We say: While powerful, these retinol capsules are also surprisingly gentle.

Even with sensitive skin, our tester found these capsules provided noticeable results — decreased pore size, improved skin texture — without redness or sensitivity.
