Illness forces TLC to cancel Caesars Windsor appearance
A previously announced TLC concert, slated for Thursday night at Caesars Windsor, has been cancelled.
Caesars officials released a statement Tuesday saying artist illness was the reason the Grammy-winning girl group, featuring Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-boz” Watkins, scrubbed the show.
“We deeply regret to inform you that we must cancel the upcoming show date,” TLC officials said in the news release.
“Unfortunately, a few members of our tour, including Tionne, have fallen ill with the flu. As a result, Tionne has lost her voice.
“Following medical advice, she has been instructed not to perform this week,” they added. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your support means the world to us, and we look forward to the opportunity to perform for you in the near future. We love you and will see you soon.”
TLC, whose hits include No Scrubs, Waterfalls and Creep, bring a genre-bending style of pop, hip-hop and R&B and a message of female empowerment. They were to be joined by special guest C+C Music Factory.
Tickets purchased at the Caesars Windsor box office will be refunded by showing a photo ID, proof of purchase and the tickets at the box office, which is open Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and on show days from noon to 10 p.m.
The box office is also open Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. to help facilitate refunds.
If tickets were purchased online or by phone through Ticketmaster, refunds will be automatically processed via the method of payment.
