● Philadel­phia has a cou­ple of nights off this week­end — but the Metropoli­tan Divi­sion club will still be ex­tremely busy. Head coach Dave Hak­stol’s crew meets the Sabres in Buf­falo this af­ter­noon and then flies to Win­nipeg for an­other mati­nee on Sun­day. The Fly­ers are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games and are tied for last in the divi­sion with the New Jersey Devils.

● The Fly­ers are com­ing off a 4-3 over­time de­feat Thurs­day to the vis­it­ing Colum­bus Blue Jack­ets. D Travis San­heim, who hails from Elkhorn, Man., scored his first two goals of the sea­son in a span of 2:05 in the third pe­riod to even the con­test 3-3. He was Philadel­phia’s first-round pick (17th over­all) in the 2014 NHL Draft af­ter a bril­liant ju­nior ca­reer with the Cal­gary Hit­men, and he played

49 games (2G, 8A) last sea­son.
